Testimonials:
Benjamin Curtin (Student): "A great thing about LACS is that we can discuss real issues here. I know that my teachers have experienced a lot of challenges, and they are willing to talk to me and be leaders I can look up to. Some of my teachers used to be students here, yet they also experienced other schools and cultures, and they have a lot to share. I like how the teachers really care about me. I also appreciate the time a teacher can spend on the subject without wasting time dealing with disruptive students and discipline issues. Additionally, sports motivates me to keep up my grades. I enjoy representing my school because our teams play fair and with honor. Sportsmanship really matters here, even when we want to win”.
Jonathan Rutz (Alumnus): "Being home-schooled and in a Christian school throughout high school, I thought academics at LACS would be difficult for me, but I found the teachers were very helpful and devoted to my success. The teachers worked alongside me and cared about what I learned. Most of the teachers at LACS have worked there for a very long time, showing that they really care about what they do. I know I succeeded academically because of their help. Additionally, LACS is purposeful in who they choose as a chapel speaker. I liked that Bible classes are required. It was good to be reminded of who I am as a Christian throughout the week and to give me food for thought. Concerning sports, I am a college athlete now and throughout high school I played on different sports teams, both at LACS and outside the school. I noticed a huge difference in LACS sports. Gary Guth, also an alumnus, and I played on the same team since third grade. I learned that sports brings out your true character. Sports at LACS is definitely an incredible learning experience. I appreciated being pushed individually and also growing as a team. LACS has won the most sportsmanship awards in our league. Coaches care more about your academics and Christian walk; that comes first and sports come second. I really enjoyed that experience and learned a lot spiritually."
Mike & Kelli Thrower (Parents): "In the days we live in, we have found it more and more essential to bring our children up in the ways of the Lord. As we began to seek the Lord, our children's grandparents came on board financially to help send our three children to Christian school, reminding us that sometimes it takes a "village to raise a child." At Lake Arrowhead Christian school, we celebrate Grandparents' Day and the very people who also invest financially as well as spiritually in our children's lives. At LACS, chapel, memory verses, and prayer surround each day of our children's lives, and the presence of the Lord reigns. We have seen our children grow closer to the Lord as they seek Him in all areas of their lives."
Alexandra Fox (Student): "Lake Arrowhead Christian School is a home and family to all students who attend, and I assure you, you cannot attend LACS without being positively influenced by the hard-working staff and engaging students. The staff and students at LACS have encouraged me to be the woman of God I am today and continue to become. My opportunity to be a part of the LACS family came when I was in Junior High, and everything about LACS has been an answered prayer since then. Because of LACS, I have been blessed with friendships that I know will last a lifetime, encouragement and advice that will stick with me forever, and an education from teachers who truly care about you and will go above and beyond their regular duties to help you gain a better understanding of the material being taught. LACS is a place that truly inspires accountable Christian character in students' lives by a staff that is a true testament of Jesus' love."
Allison Curtin (Alumna): “LACS 100% prepared me for a rigorous university education. Many of my college peers are struggling to learn ‘new material’ that my high school teachers covered thoroughly. I can focus on more depth in my studies. Spiritually, LACS has helped to set my feet on the path I want to pursue for life, living a life for Christ. The Biblical surveys, the rich exegesis of scripture, and the godly role models who are teachers have solidified my faith. The opportunity LACS provided to go on a mission trip to Costa Rica further enriched my view for the need for compassion, understanding, and service to the world for the sake of Christ. In sports, being in a small school helped me gain confidence that I could try everything. I loved the elementary competitions of Math Olympics and the Speech Meet. Even in elementary school I had the opportunity to play a leading role in a Christmas production, learned to play the violin, submitted stories for a Writing Festival, got to travel to the Science Fair, and played on a co-ed basketball team. Because of knowing the teachers and students so well in this small setting, I knew that my friends would encourage me. This gave me the confidence to branch out and try activities in high school, such as yearbook and sports. Now in college, I really enjoy anything unusual. I am participating in student office, and many on and off campus clubs. A term in Germany is also on the schedule! I really have LACS to thank for nurturing and growing me in confidence”.
