HISTORY & PROGRESS
Founded in 1978 as Calvary Chapel Christian School under the direction of Principal Randy Leonard and his wife Jan, Lake Arrowhead Christian School has brought together a thoroughly equipped staff of Christian believers dedicated to developing Christian character in each student. Lake Arrowhead Christian School has been blessed to have a teaching staff that has made long-term commitments to our students, some for more than 30 years.
In 1980, the school relocated from Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Twin Peaks to Calvary Chapel of Lake Arrowhead’s new church facility. In 1999, to broaden our community outreach, we established our own non-profit corporation known as Lake Arrowhead Christian School.
LACS then moved to the grounds of Lake Arrowhead Community Baptist Church (now Sandals), in 2006. Families rallied and made generous donations of time and money. This collaboration allowed school to start, complete with a new playground, as scheduled on September 6, 2006.
In 2012, LACS returned to its birthplace at Twin Peaks Christian Conference Center and was adopted by Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, providing us with a permanent home. Our school has benefited tremendously from the provisions of the conference center, including but not limited to the use of a new gymnasium, sanctuary, classrooms, kitchen, pool, and outdoor amphitheater.
