INTRODUCTION
Academics is a top priority at LACS. We pride ourselves in providing a supportive environment in which students are challenged to pursue academic excellence. In addition to offering a comprehensive educational program supported by state standards, LACS also offers a high school honors and advanced placement program. Students who are ready for a stronger challenge are encouraged to reach their academic potential by taking UC-approved, AP classes. Advanced placement classes are designed to be comparable to university level work and provide students with the opportunity to gain college credit in their high school years.
Our academic courses are designed to help students increase their level of knowledge while simultaneously equipping students with the tools needed for successful practical application. Implementing an array of proven learning strategies and addressing the various types of learners in our classrooms, students' cognitive abilities are challenged in a supported collaborative learning environment.
At LACS, we prepare students academically and spiritually to succeed in today's world!
BIBLICAL INTEGRATION
LACS strives for the highest academic standards as we are called to dedicate all our efforts to God. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Col 3:23). Scripture tells us that in working for the Lord, showing God’s love is our first priority. Accordingly, LACS integrates God’s love and biblical teachings into every aspect of academic life. We prayerfully consider yearly scripture themes. Additionally, each teacher finds unique ways to purposefully incorporate that theme into the curriculum to enrich every subject taught and to see every academic discipline as a way of viewing God.
Alongside daily Bible lessons and classes, our students attend weekly chapels with a range of Bible teachers and Christian guest speakers. Secondary students live out these teachings via community service hours, and all students are encouraged to exhort and love one another. At LACS, not only do we view each core subject from a biblical perspective, but students are also able to see the creativity of God in every aspect of their lives.
“If I speak with the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." ~ 1 Cor 13:1
