Extracurricular Activities
Lake Arrowhead Christian School is a smaller private school that provides enriching and rewarding extra-curricular activities for our students. Furthermore, LACS offers an impressive line-up of educational field trips that allow our students to explore and investigate the wonders of God’s creation for themselves. We are also extremely pleased to offer highly competitive & established athletic programs that are sanctioned by C.I.F., California Interscholastic Federation. For additional information on our athletic programs, please see our sports link.
Spiritual and Social Learning - Students interact with their peers as they collaboratively explore their world from a Biblical perspective. One such experience is provided by the Creation Research Institute where students discover the truth about creation and evolution.
Community Service - In the genuine and humble act of Christian service according to Isaiah 61:1, students embrace opportunities to love their neighbor and serve those in need in our surrounding communities. Each year our students provide Thanksgiving baskets for families in need in our community. Additionally, students brought food items to Operation Provider, a provider for the homeless and hungry, and collected jackets for hurting families facing cold winter temperatures. Special Events - A variety of special events, including honoring our Veterans in our Veterans' Day Celebration and Missions Assemblies, provide rewarding opportunities for our students to learn historically the sacrifice of others as well as discover in greater depth the world around them via opportunities to serve in various countries. This year's mission opportunities included China, Europe, Dominican Republic, Panama and Peru. After School Activities - From themed days, such as Spy Day or Candyland Characters, to fellowship nights, students embrace a world of fun, discovery, and interaction with their peers. In 2017, we began theater productions. In 2018, LACS started an Odyssey of the Mind team, where students collaborated in problem solving for science. This team advanced through Regional and State Competitions to the World Finals at Michigan State University in May 2019. Also in spring 2019, LACS hosted its first High School Prom. Read-A-Thon, Dr. Seuss Week, & Bike-A-Thon Events - Research indicates that readers make great leaders. LACS' annual Read-A-Thon and Dr. Seuss Week introduce students to a world of discovery while encouraging them to further develop and strengthen their reading skills. Embracing fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and sensory experiences, our Bike-A-Thon provides a rich cognitive and socially interactive environment for our students. Physical Education - At LACS, our physical education instructors teach students the importance of dietary health and exercise. Additionally, students further develop and learn new motor skills through the introduction of various sports and athletic activities. Scheduled Field Trips Have Included: Elementary Students (K-6)
Middle School Students (7-8)
